Bawa Groundbreaking

It started quietly, the way the most important things often do. A circle of people on a piece of ground in Dandora. Children in uniform. Parents standing close. Teachers who had given years to this vision. And two co-founders — Joseph Kariuki and Marcus Cannon — standing together for the first time on Kenyan soil.

Joseph lifted the first shovel of earth. The crowd cheered. What had lived in plans and prayers and conversations across continents was now, finally, becoming real. Bawa was getting a home.

The groundbreaking ceremony was more than a construction milestone. It was a declaration — to every child who has ever sat in a space too small to hold their dreams, and to every person who believed this community was worth investing in. The build has begun. And it will not stop until the doors open.
